With 3d printer and CNC machines we have been exposed to a wide variety of computer enabled tooling, even modeling and designing is using computers but the idea of using Pepakura came back up this week after realizing that I could take the same design concept and apply this to metal with a waterjet to cut and then weld together. This is a piece of software that lets you take a 3d model and unwrap it (fold it flat) so that you can print out a template on paper or cardstock and tape together to make your design in a tangible form.
